“ Inspector-General of the Royal Malaysia Police Visits ASEANAPOL Secretariat to Strengthen Strategic Partnership and Advance Regional Policing Excellence”
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 April 2026 – The ASEANAPOL Secretariat was honoured to host an official visit by the Honourable Inspector-General of the Royal Malaysia Police, Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khalid bin Haji Ismail, marking a significant milestone in further strengthening the close partnership between the Secretariat and its host nation, Malaysia.
The Honourable IGP was accompanied by a high-level delegation of distinguished officers from the Royal Malaysia Police, including Dato’ Sri Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Majid, Director of Management; Datuk Abdul Rahman bin Kassim, Secretary of the Royal Malaysia Police; and senior officials from the IGP’s Secretariat. The delegation was warmly received by the Executive Director of the ASEANAPOL Secretariat, Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, together with the Secretariat’s senior leadership team.
During the visit, the Executive Director delivered a comprehensive strategic briefing outlining the Secretariat’s regional roadmap, priority initiatives, and operational coordination mechanisms aimed at strengthening intelligence sharing, enhancing anti-online scam cooperation, and supporting collective responses to transnational crime across ASEANAPOL Member Countries. The briefing also highlighted the Secretariat’s ongoing efforts to further reinforce its role as a regional coordination hub for ASEAN police cooperation, in alignment with the mandates endorsed by the ASEANAPOL Conference.
This was followed by a corporate presentation illustrating the Secretariat’s expanding role in facilitating practical cooperation, supporting joint initiatives among Member Countries, and advancing coordinated regional policing capabilities through structured platforms and partnership-driven programmes.
