The Royal Thai Police is the national police service of the Kingdom of Thailand, responsible for law enforcement, crime prevention and suppression, immigration control, and maintaining public order.
History
1455
The Royal Thai Police first came into existence over 500 years ago.
19th Century
Modernisation of the police occurred during the reign of King Rama IV, when an English sea captain named Joseph Byrd Ames designed the modern policing system and became the first uniform police commander appointed by the king.
