WORKING VISIT BY DR. JOHN COYNE TO ASEANAPOL SECRETARIAT

The Secretariat received a visit from Dr. John Coyne, Head of Australian Strategic Policy Institutes Border Security Program. He was briefed by the Director for Police Services, ACP Mohamad Anil Shah wherein, Dr. Coyne's purpose was to discuss on transnational forest and wildlife crime in ASEAN including proposals for strengthening existing initiatives, bilateral sharing between countries of nominal data related to specific reported or alleged offences and bilateral sharing of non-nominal data used. The primary focus is on development of actions that support national, regional and international institutions to collect, analyse and share information on cross-border forest crime in the region.
