The public is advised that:

* ASEANAPOL Secretariat does not operate any official WhatsApp account or messaging application to contact members of the public directly.
* ASEANAPOL does not conduct investigations through private messaging platforms.
* ASEANAPOL does not request or accept payments, fees, or financial transfers from individuals.
Any communication claiming otherwise should be treated with caution.

Members of the public are strongly encouraged to:

* Refrain from responding to suspicious messages.
* Avoid transferring money or sharing personal or financial information.
* Verify any such communication directly with their respective National Police Authority (ASEAN Member Country).
* Report suspicious activities to their local police or cybercrime unit.
