Courtesy Visit Kaspersky to ASEANAPOL Secretariat
On 22 January 2026, Kaspersky International paid an official courtesy visit to the ASEANAPOL Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur to strengthen strategic partnership and advance cooperation in combating cybercrime within the ASEAN policing framework.
The Kaspersky delegation was led by Mr. Lee Hung, Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy (APAC), and included Mr. Simon Tung, Mr. Gokul Sreeja Vijay, Mr. Chu Wai Chung, and Ms. Fennie Ho Pooi Loon.
The delegation was received by Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of ASEANAPOL Secretariat; Police Senior Superintendent Huntal Tambunan (INP), Director of Police Services; and Police Colonel Jean Mary Mangahis (PNP), Director of Plans and Programmes, together with officers of the Secretariat.
Discussions focused on emerging cross-border cyber threats affecting ASEAN, including online fraud, ransomware, malware attacks, data breaches, and digitally enabled organized crime. Both sides explored practical cooperation in digital forensics, real-time threat intelligence, incident response, capacity-building initiatives, and the responsible application of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance investigative effectiveness.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to strengthening regional cybersecurity resilience, enhancing operational readiness, and fostering a strong public–private partnership to effectively counter transnational cybercrime across ASEAN.
