ASEANAPOL STRENGTHENS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH FRANCE TO ADVANCE REGIONAL SECURITY COOPERATION

On 13 February 2026, Mr. Laurent Moscatello, French Regional Police Attaché, paid a courtesy visit to the ASEANAPOL Secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He was received by Police Senior Colonel Dr. Kongkrissada Kittithiraphong, Executive Director of ASEANAPOL Secretariat.

The meeting reflected ASEANAPOL’s clear strategic direction to position itself as the central platform for regional police cooperation in Southeast Asia, strengthening partnerships with key international counterparts to collectively combat transnational crime.

Discussions focused on enhancing structured information-sharing, operational coordination, and capacity-building in priority crime areas, including transnational organized crime, cybercrime, trafficking in persons, illicit drug trafficking, and other emerging security threats affecting the region.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to closer coordination and sustained engagement. The French side expressed readiness to expand cooperation through joint initiatives, technical collaboration, and professional exchanges, supporting ASEANAPOL’s mission to reinforce collective security efforts among ASEAN Member Countries.

The courtesy visit underscored ASEANAPOL’s ongoing commitment to consolidating strategic partnerships and enhancing its role as a regional hub that connects ASEAN police forces with global law enforcement partners in the unified fight against transnational crime.
